The Cleveland Clinic has been a longtime supporter of various events and initiatives of The Centers. A number of Cleveland Clinic employees have also served on The Centers’ Board of Directors. Oliver “Pudge” Henkel is a current Board of Directors member. Currently, the Cleveland Clinic’s Office of Public Health and Research and the Medicine Institute partner with The Centers on an integrated health project, where Cleveland Clinic staff provide primary care services to adults with severe mental illness at our East and West Health & Wellness Centers. Our quality early learning services reach children during a critical window of development but we recognize that our work cannot end at kindergarten. We know that children who make early gains in skills like literacy often lose this advantage if they enter a low-performing elementary school. We are partnering with Breakthrough Schools, a network of high-performing elementary charter schools to align our early learning program with grades K-3. Children who participate in our Breakthrough classrooms benefit from the strong relationships our teachers and staff have with Breakthrough schools teachers and staff. We work together for a smooth transition from early learning into kindergarten. Further, we are working together to share information to enable us to continue to track our children after they leave our doors with the goal of ultimately improving our overall program.
Care Alliance Health Center partners with The Centers on the growth and sustainability of health and wellness services; making it possible for even more adults with severe mental illness to be able to receive both behavioral health and primary care services at the same location. The Centers and Care Alliance are currently developing models of integrated health at our East Health & Wellness Center and Care Alliance’s St. Clair location.
We also work with many other organizations in our area and at the state and federal level. We know that the lasting, positive change only happens when people have access to the right opportunities, relationships and networks and we will continue to partner with organizations to widen opportunities for those in need.
